ABOUT

Hello, I’m Cara Mueller!

If you’ve been struggling with anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficulty focusing, or just a persistent sense that something feels off, you may be wondering whether medication could help—or whether there’s a better approach than what you’ve tried before. I’d love to help.

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication prescribing, and ongoing medication management for teens and adults. I work with individuals navigating a range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Depression and mood disorders

  • ADHD

  • PTSD and trauma-related conditions

  • Postpartum and women’s mental health

  • Sleep and stress-related concern

My Approach

I believe medication, when appropriate, can be genuinely life-changing—but it works best as part of a bigger picture. My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based care. Together, we’ll look at the full context of your life—including sleep, stress, physical health, lifestyle, and what matters most to you—to guide individualized treatment decisions.

I’m especially passionate about helping people make sense of what they’re experiencing, understand their treatment options clearly, and find an approach that feels both effective and sustainable.

My goal is for you to feel informed, comfortable, and actively involved in every decision about your care—not just handed a prescription.

My Background

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health from Northern Kentucky University. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent several years working as a registered nurse in critical care and complex medical settings, which shaped my deep respect for the connection between physical and mental health.

My background also includes global health and community-based work supporting underserved populations with limited access to care. These experiences strengthened my commitment to culturally responsive, whole-person care and to creating a space where individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and belief systems feel safe and respected. This also deepened my passion for supporting women and individuals who have faced adversity, and for helping people build resilience and reconnect with a sense of themselves.
